What is a personal loan?
A personal loan is an unsecured loan: you borrow a fixed amount and pay it back in monthly instalments over an agreed term. You don't need to put up your house or car as security, and you decide what the money is used for.
Most personal loans in South Africa have a fixed monthly instalment, which makes budgeting easy. Your interest rate depends on your credit profile and is capped by the National Credit Act – currently at 28.25% per year for unsecured loans. Lenders may also charge a once-off initiation fee and a monthly service fee, which are capped by law too.
With Finvo you get a quick overview of offers from more than 20 NCR-registered lenders – so you can choose the loan that suits you best.
