Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. About this policy

This policy explains how Finvo handles personal information when you use our loan comparison service in South Africa. The Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) provides rights and safeguards for your personal information. Finvo is a comparison service, not a credit provider.

2. Who is responsible for your information?

Finvo is operated by the company below. These are our operator's registered details, not a South African branch address.

Nexa Finance A/S
Company registration number: 37798037
Vesterbrogade 149
1620 Copenhagen V
Denmark

3. Information we collect

  • Contact details: your name, email address and South African mobile number.
  • Application details: the amount you would like to borrow, your preferred repayment term and, where requested, your employment, income and debt review information.
  • Consent and activity: your communication preferences, application dates, correspondence and interactions with our messages.
  • Technical information: information such as your IP address, browser, device and how you reached or used our website.

Our application partner or a credit provider may ask for additional information, such as your South African ID number, bank statements or payslips, and may obtain information from a credit bureau. Their own privacy notices explain how they handle that information.

4. How we use your information

We use the information you provide to process your request, pass your application to our application partner, help you access loan offers, respond to enquiries and keep records of your preferences. We also use relevant information to maintain our service, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations.

Processing must have a lawful basis under POPIA, such as your consent, steps needed to provide the service you request, a legal obligation or a legitimate interest recognised by law.

5. Sharing information

When you continue with an application, relevant information is shared with our application partner, myLoan, and participating credit providers so they can assess your request. We may also use service providers for hosting, communication and technical support, and disclose information where required by law.

Credit providers make their own affordability and credit decisions. Please read the privacy notice and permissions shown in the partner application before submitting further information.

6. Storage and international transfers

Our operator and some service providers are outside South Africa. Personal information may therefore be processed in another country. Cross-border transfers are subject to POPIA, including the requirements in section 72 for an adequate level of protection or another permitted basis for transfer.

Information should be kept only for as long as it is needed for its stated purpose or to meet applicable legal, record-keeping and dispute-resolution requirements. You can contact us to ask about the information held about you and applicable retention periods.

7. Marketing and your choices

Where you have given the relevant consent, Finvo may contact you about loans and financial products by email, SMS or phone. You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe option in a message or contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.

8. Your rights under POPIA

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access, ask for incorrect information to be corrected, request deletion where appropriate, object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

Send your request to info@finvo.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We cannot always delete information that must be retained for a lawful reason.

9. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics and advertising measurement. These technologies may collect device and browsing information. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

10. Security

Personal information requires appropriate technical and organisational safeguards against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No internet service is completely risk-free. Please do not email your banking password, PIN or full identity documents when contacting us.

11. Questions and complaints

Please contact us first if you have a question or concern about your information. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa, which provides current complaint procedures and contact details on its website.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

Company details and terms

info@finvo.co.za

Finvo is not a credit provider. We are an independent loan comparison service and only work with credit providers registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR). When you apply through Finvo, your request is passed on to one or more lenders, who make their own credit decision. Our service is free – we may receive a commission from our partners when a loan is paid out, which never affects your interest rate or fees.

Representative example: A loan of R30,000 over 36 months at an illustrative annual interest rate of 28.25% gives an estimated monthly repayment of R1,364, including the initiation fee and monthly service fee. Total repayment: R49,107. Repayment terms range from 6 to 72 months.
